He and his wife, Chesca, seem to be more in-love every day, so much so that they’ve been tagged as the epitome of ‘relationship goals’. They’ve been together for 17 years now from the moment they laid eyes on each other. Problems do come in the way and they’ve both attested to that but together, with compromise, trust and open communication, they were able to succeed. They’ve also revealed that one secret to a long happy marriage is to “spoil each other”.

Chesca posted in her IG a photo of herself and husband, Doug, having a date night at home. She wrote as the caption, “Spoiled wife, spoiled husband, too! It works both ways. It’s just but right for husband and wife to spend time and to continue to date each other.” She also added, “There is plenty of room to grow and get to know each other even more. It should not be optional, it’s obligatory – out of your love and devotion to your spouse.”

Much like every other husband out there, there are times that you can’t understand your wife. Doug suggests that couples should work through your troubles early and not let a day pass by. “Work through your troubles and misunderstandings and never let a day pass when you argue and fight. 17 years together, and we have never let an argument last more than a day.”

Sometimes pride do get in the way, which makes things way worse and Doug knows this. “Takedown your pride, say sorry first, and admit your ownz faults rather than pointing fingers. Work on what you need to do rather than trying to change your partner’s attitude. And remember, love is more than an emotion. It’s always a choice. Oh btw, husbands… date your wife,” he wrote.
